Our program is STEM-focused, where young children explore and discover through hands-on activities. Rooted in the theories of Jean Piaget and other developmental experts, our approach supports children in actively constructing their own understanding through experience. We provide an environment where children can experiment, problem-solve, and discover through purposeful play, with teachers serving as thoughtful facilitators of learning. Academics are presented through structured lessons geared towards school readiness.

We foster a community where children can be together—talking, listening, learning how to navigate social interactions, and developing empathy and respect. Inspired by Reggio principles, we see the environment as the “third teacher” and intentionally create beautiful, engaging spaces that invite inquiry, creativity, and meaningful connection.

Our curriculum is guided by the interests of the children and integrates nature, art, music, storytelling, and hands-on learning. Food and cooking are also an important part of our program. We serve natural foods at snack time and our curriculum includes how and where food grows. We remain committed to meeting each child’s unique needs while encouraging their individuality and supporting their growth at their own pace. We value the process of learning over the product, and we honor the child’s voice in shaping their own learning journey.

The four core goals of Great Beginnings remain:

Social development

Rich art experiences

Exploration of scientific concepts

Cultivating purposeful, joyful use of time

These goals promote a sense of security, confidence, and self-worth that serves as the foundation for lifelong learning.

Meet Our Team

Teri Moreno

Director

Erin Soiland

Ocean Room

Aliyah Noble

Tidepool Room

Jessica Padron

Tidepool Room

At Great Beginnings, we believe that early childhood is a time of wonder, discovery, and foundational growth.
